Analogue CCTV : a year on.
TMS recently returned to service an analogue CCTV setup and found the system was still fully working. The original design brief was for remote viewing internet, to allow any alarms to be monitored. During the onsite training the end user had been shown the ability to view the footage on site. While servicing the system, we found that the receptionist had become the main user as her networked PC could view the live feed. By logging into the secure system, she could quickly find out which employees were onsite and where about they were. This simple use saved her a lot of shouting and walking around their facility.
Analogue CCTV : On site realtime feed.
The above picture is taken of the actual screen that is used to view the live feed onsite. This was taken at 16:10 on a winter’s night and shows the camera’s low light ability. It can also be noticed that the first camera appears to have white lines randomly across the picture. These are caused simply by a spiders web that is highlighted because the IR (Infra Red) lighting that is built into these external cameras reflecting back to the lens. The solution is to simply wipe the camera cover and the picture is clear and line free.
The following pictures were taken during the installation of the low cost analogue CCTV system and used to complement the motion sensitive LED Lighting. The bespoke signage is shown as this is a legal requirement and increases the visual deterrent.
